Our Mission is to provide a range of community services which includes Health Services (Disease management), Health Communication (Prevention), Children services (OVC's) and Advocacy (Accessing Social Services) and Improving Livelihoods in Joe Slovo Township NMMB, Eastern Cape

Our portfolio of programmes include home-based care services, peer education and health education focusing on HIV/AIDS and chronic diseases, children’s services for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) including an after-care support programme, a feeding scheme, support groups, formal and non-formal education interventions, vegetable gardening programmes, life-skills training and sports and recreational activities.  In addition, Sophakama plays an advocacy role in the community, assisting to access official documentation as well as social grants.
